Born in Taipei, Taiwan, I- Hsuan Lee began to learn piano at six years old and oboe at eight. Since the age of 9, she was selected to pursue her music study in Music Gifted and Talented Classes until she entered in university.

I- Hsuan Lee obtained the 1st place in Oboe at the Practical examination for the College Admission, and later graduated from the National Taiwan University of Art, having majored in oboe. Currently, she is finishing her Master of Music Performance at the Hochschule der künste Bern with Jaime González Rodriguez.

 

She participated in masterclasses by François Leleux, Benoît Laurent and received advices from Emanuel Abbühl, Celine Moinet and Kai Frömbgen.

In 2009, I- Hsuan Lee elected to join the Taipei Symphony Orchestra with a one-year qualification as an oboist assistant. In 2016, she won an audition to participate in the Youth Music Culture Guangdong project.

 

She had the opportunity to collaborate with the conductor Michael Stern and the cellist Yo-Yo Ma as chief oboist, touring through Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.
 

I- Hsuan Lee also taught oboe in Music Gifted and Talented Class at Makung Elementary School and Makung Junior High School. Furthermore, she was a member of the 13th board of directors in Taiwan Orff-Schulwerk Association of music.
